Martin Short Snaps Up Beachwood Canyon Cottage

Actor purchases charming home for his daughter.

Actor Martin Short snapped up a Cape Cod–style cottage in LA’s famed Beachwood Canyon!

According to sources, Short purchased the home in the hills for his daughter, Katherine, paying $1,101,650 for the 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom, 1,836-square-foot home nestled among trees. The home was listed for $999,000, but Short had to bid up the price to make the deal happen.

Thanks, Dad!

Up legendary Beachwood Canyon, sheltered by lush trees, Short’s daughter’s new cottage has an abundance of charm, with newly redone hardwood floors, beautiful canyon views, open-air patios great for entertaining, soothing gardens, and a tranquil outdoor setting.

Short is back in the headlines lately ahead of the release of his memoir, I Must Say, which details his trajectory from his hometown of Toronto to a career on stage and screen that has made him a household name. He is best known for his TV work on Saturday Night Live and The Martin Short Show, and in many comedy classics, including Three AmigosFather of the Bride, and Mars Attacks. He also lends his distinctive voice to animated movies and TV shows.

In his personal life, Short maintains a low profile. He lost his wife of 30+ years to ovarian cancer in 2010. He currently resides in a gorgeous home in Pacific Palisades, just a short drive from his daughter’s beautiful new place.

Jackie Smith of Hilton & Hyland represented the sellers, and James R Hutchison of Coldwell Banker represented the Short family in this purchase.
