Fleetwood Mac’s John McVie Buys A French-Inspired Estate In Los Angeles

The legendary bassist is “going his own way” … to Brentwood.

The Rumours are true: John McVie, longtime bass guitarist for classic rock band Fleetwood Mac, has a new French-style estate in the luxe Los Angeles, CA, neighborhood of Brentwood. The four-bed, five-bath spread, which John landed for $6.775 million, is the perfect spot for a formerly hard-living rocker to sit back and enjoy his golden years.

Built in 2002, the 5,478-square-foot sprawling estate draws inspiration from the villas of Provence, France. Located in the highly coveted, guard-gated community of Brentwood Circle, the Gus Duffy–designed residence exudes elegance and authenticity. Sophisticated details include hardwood floors lined with antique French pavers and hand-hewn beams in vaulted ceilings, plus carved doors and imported mantels. A rustic-style kitchen has modern amenities such as an oversized limestone island, custom cabinetry, a butler’s pantry, and top-of-the-line appliances. En-suite bathrooms with imported marble and Baccarat faucets are tucked within each of the four bedrooms. The home features French doors that open out to an enchanting garden with babbling brooks, a saltwater pool, spa, and multiple entertaining areas. You can practically imagine Stevie Nicks twirling around like a throaty-voiced forest creature right now!

John may be a music man, but he certainly seems to know a thing or two about real estate. In addition to his new Brentwood home, he has another property in the area, as well as one in West Hollywood, CA. His longtime home is a $5 million property in Honolulu, HI. But John will have a friend nearby when he’s at his new place: Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham also has a home in the neighborhood! Because, you know, you can never break “The Chain.”
