Gwyneth Paltrow Buys Santa Barbara Mansion For $4.9 Million

The Goop goddess has snagged a rare fixer-upper in the luxurious SoCal community.

It’s good to be Gwyneth! The Oscar-winning actress and all-around superior human being has dropped $4.9 million on a luxurious estate home in Santa Barbara, CA.

The four-bed, four-bath property overlooks the ocean from its multiple sunny terraces and manicured gardens that even Monet would envy. Constructed in the Venice-inspired Palladian style, the 5,022-square-foot property needs a bit of work, according to the listing. The purchase also includes the property next door, which has another three beds and three and a half baths. But if anyone has the patience to take on a reno, it’s Queen Gwyneth, who recently spoke about how well the process of “conscious uncoupling” is working for her and ex-husband Chris Martin.

The home has a spacious living room and a lovely conservatory-style sitting room where we imagine Gwyneth will host her children’s French lessons. With floor-to-ceiling windows, towering ceilings, and 20-foot skylights, the home is a peaceful retreat where Gwyneth can produce her lifestyle publication, Goop, and be stung by bees to her heart’s content. There’s also a two-car garage where Gwyneth’s mom, Blythe Danner, could park if she comes to hang with the kiddies.

Outdoors, a long swimming pool looks fit for swimming laps — or serving as a backdrop for classy summer parties. And we all know Gwyneth loves to entertain, especially for friends like Beyoncé and Jay Z.

With 2.5 acres of greenery, this will be the perfect weekend retreat for Paltrow and her current squeeze, Brad Falchuk. During the workweek, they can always hang at Gwyneth’s $14 million Malibu, CA, property, or her New York, NY, residence. And then there’s the massive estate she shared with Martin in London and their $10 million Los Angeles, CA, equestrian estate. Hey, a girl’s gotta have options.
