Curtis Stone’s making bank in both the kitchen and the real estate market. The celebrity chef just listed his six-bed, seven-bath home in the Hollywood Hills for a pretty penny: $16,500 a month. Stone, who is married to Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Lindsay Price, bought that home back in 2010 from former ER actress Alex Kingston for $3.1 million. But that’s not the only big deal he’s made recently: Stone also just sold a four-bed, three-bath home in the sun-drenched suburb of Encino for $1.807 million.
Stone’s Hollywood Hills property is a gated, contemporary home by Paul Hinckley. Built in 1964, it features materials such as glass, wood, and concrete organically infused throughout the home, allowing plenty of light to stream through. An open entry leads to a living room with soaring Douglas Fir ceilings, a two-sided wood burning fireplace, and concrete-style floors. A stunning kitchen filled with stainless steel appliances is fit for a world-famous chef like Stone, or a busy family. The private dining room opens out to the beautiful backyard. There’s also a spacious meditation and spa room with a luxurious indoor/outdoor bath area. Climb the private mahogany staircase and you’ll reach the master suite, which has a large master bath, walk-in closet, and French doors that open out to a romanic balcony overlooking the beautiful sparkling lights of the city. Outside, there’s a lap pool, spa, barbecue area and rolling grassy yard that provides unique views of the Lake Hollywood Reservoir, which is very rare.
Stone’s previously mentioned Encino property, pictured above, which he bought back in 2015 for $1.36 million, is also quite unique. Built in 1956, the mid-century residence was designed by Jules Salkin. With an open floor plan, the kitchen flows into the dining room and into the family room areas, continuing into the living room where a dual fireplace and built-in-bookshelves serve as a focal point. In the dining area, a beautiful vaulted ceiling showcases natural exposed beams and period lighting, while walls of windows throughout the house provide an easy sense of indoor/outdoor living that’s instantly identifiable with Southern California life. Ideal for entertaining, the backyard features a large swimming pool, gas fire pit, comfortable patio dining area and a built-in barbecue, where we’re guessing Stone has flipped a gourmet burger or two.
