"American Pie" Screenwriter Adam Herz Lists Los Angeles Home For $4 Million

“American Pie” screenwriter Adam Herz is selling his custom Los Angeles home for $3,995,000.

Rich and successful after “American Pie” became a hit film franchise, Herz’s road to Hollywood started when he wrote his first screenplay, originally titled East Great Falls High,  over a winter ski vacation in 1998. It was based on his high school years in East Grand Rapids, Michigan. It sold for a reported $650,000 in 1999 and became the film American Pie.

15 years and 8 “American Pie” titles later, Herz is sitting pretty in Hollywood and living the life in an incredible Sunset Plaza home that just hit the market for nearly $4 million.

Decorated by Peter Dunham and published in Elle Decor, Herz’s contemporary home has amazing views upon entry. On the entry level is a beautiful oak-paneled den with wet bar, and large private junior suite. Upstairs, the master suite overlooks the city, complete with oversized walk-in closet and a master bath with radiant heated floors and his/hers separate bathrooms. Adjacent is an office with a great entertaining deck.

Downstairs, a kitchen with center island spills into the two-story living room and dining room. All rooms open to infinity edge pool/spa and outdoor dining area.

In an unusual, but awesome twist, the bottom level features a saloon/bar complete with card table/area, a professional theater, and world class gym.

Richard Ehrlich of The Westside Agency is the listing agent.
