What Locals Say about Mifflintown

  • Elizabeth S.
"No public transit. Main roads are normally cleared well in winter while back roads are often messy. It’s a two-lane to work, so it’s possible to be stuck behind slow drivers, Amish buggies, or the occasional tractor. "
  • Elizabeth S.
"This is a small town, so the commute is generally easy. During morning hours, one may get behind school busses. Also, we are a rural area, so we do have tractors and Amish buggies on the roads. "
  • Elizabeth S.
"Loving in town is great. We walk to the playground, the library, the post office, Guante’s restaurant. We also walk our sons to elementary school. If we lived on the other side of town, we could walk to Weis, Tractor Supply, Burger King, and Mifflintown Hardware. The junior high and high school are also located there, about a mile from our house. It’s a quiet little town where neighbors look after each other. "
  • Elizabeth S.
"Second Saturday farmer markets, community yard sales, community fun day at the park, drive in movie theater"
  • Elizabeth S.
"Many people own and walk dogs in this neighborhood. People also are careful to clean up after their dogs. Dogs are usually fenced in to yards and kept inside overnight, so the neighborhood is also very quiet late at night and early mornings. "
  • Elizabeth S.
"This is a quiet neighborhood. Excellent library activities and events for the whole family. Guante’s Restaurant is a must stop! The local playgrounds are well-maintained, and the town’s streets are safe for taking walks. There is a beautiful walking loop across the bridges to and from Mifflin. "
