What Locals Say about Fairview

  • Trulia User
"people almost daily walk their dogs, up and down the sidewalks, they seem to always wave to say hello too. anytime I've asked to pet a dog they have always been kind and said yes and the dog has always been very friendly "
  • Brodmanpayne
"I hate living in Fairview although the area is not to bad just a lot of hills, so if you want flat ground this is not the area for it."
  • Frankwcraig
"Looking out for one another. Common courtesy. Cutting others grass or shoveling their walk- common courtesy. Halloween trick or treating. "
  • Dmiller607
"Altoona is very unique. It has all different types of people. Some areas are worse than others. But you have your good and bad I feel as if it’s like that with any location. "
  • Wilkij01
"The neighborhood is fairly close. We all look out for each other’s property. A couple blocks in a direction and the houses are mostly in need or repair."
  • "Upper Fairview is a wonderful location. With Penn State Altoona, Altoona Hospital, Station Medical Center, and Juniata businesses within walking distance, we have enjoyed our first year of home ownership here immensely. The neighbors are quiet and friendly, and the homes and yards are neatly maintained, many with pretty flowers and shrubbery. The taxes are surprisingly low for all the amenities the city provides. "
