I've lived here for 16+ years when the community was built & it's close to everything you can possibly think of, yet you have all the privacy in the world. Unlike other surrounding developments the houses are not on top of each other, giving every homeowner the option of having privacy. In addition to their houses being separate & unique from each other. Castlewood is not your typical cookie cutter development, it's a must see to really understand how unique it is. The school system, Schuylerville; is the absolute best school system in the county if not upstate NY. Hands down! My child completed his K-12 education with the Schuylerville school system and I worked at another; I can tell you first hand your tax dollars are hard at work--for the students. I've never seen another school so involved in their students as Schuylerville is. Overall I'd give our community 6 stars if I could! Not just because I live here but because its a great community for every age. Some houses are perfect for first time home owners or retirees. Others are perfect for growing families. But all of them are perfect for any kind of family or single person! It just depends on what you are looking for! The lots on Castlewood that are NOT directly along side of king road are much nicer, more quiet & larger because they are backed up to state land & nothing is behind those lots. So, they are worth much more in land value. Moreover there is virtually no noise except for the type of outdoor noise you'd hear on a quiet night in the Adirondacks or camping. We live on that side, its amazing & quiet, and private. Thank you for reading my review, it's a beautiful place to live! We have everything we need here at home and within a 4.5 mile radius:)) it doesn't get better than that! "
