    "May Day it happens every first Saturday of May lots of things for the kids bounce houses face painting and many different types of food vendors and people with tent’s selling all different types of things and I can’t forget get about the wrapping of the May Pole and the parade are the opening act of May Day."

    "Doerun offers many of the conveniences of larger towns, but without the congestion and traffic. While there's no public transportation, the reason is there's no need! Everything is within walking distance of ★142 N Green St★! There are several new, well-maintained dollar stores that supply virtually every need, including grocery staples, as well as a hardware store and a Piggly Wiggly Express grocery store. The City of Doerun is totally self-sufficient, providing water, sewage, electricity, 24 hour police and fire protection, cable, garbage service, voting locations and other necessities of life. There are many churches within the city limits as well as in rural areas within easy driving distance. Ameris Bank has a branch office, which was one of the first locations; if a service isn't provided there, it's a phone call away. The mayor and city council live in the city and are available for any need. The annual May Day parade and festival draw a crowd from the surrounding area, including many former residents. The front porch of ★142 N Green St★ provides spectacular viewing for the parade and has a long history of "the place to be" to enjoy it all. Many Doerun families share their homes with their pets and are happy to lend a hand when needed. ★142 N Green St★ is already fenced for children and pet safety. A well-equipped medical clinic is easily accessible on the main street, located next to the pharmacy. Additional medical treatment is available within a 15 minute drive. The city-provided public park is conveniently located and available for picnics and reunions, as is the Senior Center. More entertainment and shopping can be found in neighboring towns just a half hour away. ★142 N Green St★ is located a short half-block from the main street, N Broad/Highway 133. "

    "Doerun is an excellent place for raising children or for retirees. With it's own police and fire departments and low crime rate, safety is assured. A grocery store, a Dollar General and several quick stops mean that you don't have to leave the city limits for groceries and other necessities. The local hardware store, drug store and medical clinic serve many other needs. Ameris bank can handle all your banking business. The City of Doerun provides cable access; Dish and Direct TV are also available. Internet service is available through several providers. The City also provides it's own power, water and garbage pickup. The full-service Post Office is located conveniently on the main street. The annual May Day parade and celebration in the park draws a great number of previous residents home as well as bringing in people from the surrounding communities. Several local churches are active in Doerun. The downtown area is within walking distance of this home. Neighbors are friendly and helpful. Pets (dogs) are generally kept in fenced yards; cats typically visit friendly homes. Feral animals are not a common problem. Doerun is conveniently located between Moultrie and Albany. Sylvester, Valdosta, Tifton and Thomasville are within easy driving distance; Tallahassee is less than 2 hours south. The Georgia and Florida coasts are within a 3 hour drive, making weekend trips a pleasure. The North Georgia mountains are a good vacation area. Lake Blackshear is convenient for a day of fishing or a weekend of camping. "
