She gave us hope. But we constantly faced challenges with the community as well. At one point, my son did not eat his lunch for a couple days for he said they told him there was no more silverware in the cafeteria. No one was welcoming, only cold shoulders and stares. The smaller environment is perfect for 6th–8th graders who are still finding their footing. The teachers here really understand this age group, they provide the right balance of academic challenge and emotional support.Because it’s a tight-knit community, the students actually look out for one another.
