8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBrockman Elementary is an amazing school. I have two boys and the eldest began as a 4k in 2008. The Montessori philosophy is an amazing way to teach children how to be responsible. There is a framework in place and the children choose their own work within that structure. This creates respectful, self motivated citizens. The teachers are very well qualified. All of them have undergraduate degrees in education and their Montessori certification. Many of them have Master's degrees and National board certification. In my work with the PTO, I have had an opportunity to interact with all of them. I agree with the principal that there are no bad teachers in this school. A previous review stated that this school was not suitable for boys or for children who are not organized. I have a boy with adhd. He is the epitome of disorganized. His lower elementary teacher (1st-3rd grade) worked very closely with us and the school intervention team to make sure he was getting the guidance, structure, and accommodations he needed to be successful. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI attended Brennen Elementary School as a child from 1995-2000 and it was just amazing as it was then as it is now. Brennen has always been unique in their own way and even as a kid I remember being excited to see what was next on the agenda each day I arrived. My daughter now attends Brennen and absolutely loves it. Even if I offer her a day for a mental break (which I feel everyone needs every once in a while) she'd gladly accept going to school and learning while being surrounded by what I consider a refreshingly diverse environment with teachers and students that she enjoys being around. Mark Shea is an amazing principal and keeps all parents updated on school events via email each week and different fundraisers including family nights. My daughter is currently enrolled in 3rd Grade AAP ELA & Math and has soared over these last two semesters and prepared for 4th grade thanks to her teachers, staff, and myself. "It’s not really an area where you can walk. Fort Jackson Blvd is pretty busy most of the time and it can be a pain if you’re trying to turn left out of here. Otherwise, the easy access to 77 is awesome and the location is convenient for getting most places. "
