8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have a child who is currently a sophomore in BHS, and another child who graduated BHS in 2019. I graduated from BHS in 1987; their father in 1985. We are now both professionals. My mother was an English teacher at BHS for many years. For students who are reasonably motivated and responsible, Bangor High School will prepare them well for whatever path they choose. Like many things in life, what you put in determines what you get out. The music program has been great for my kids. They like school, and as parents we have no complaints.Parent Review2y ago - Fairmount School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe good teachers get censored and the racist and sexist ones get to control the curriculum. Can’t believe they have a male social studies teacher who won’t teach real history. The rest of their staff are excellent, for the most part. Most kids have special needs and there are no aides in classrooms. Kids are even allowed to spew racist and homophobic things with no consequences by admin. Not to mention, the kids are mostly “underprivileged” and no one seems to care about their actual problems and only cares about pushing kids through the system. The Bangor school district closes their eyes and pretends it’s good because the well to do students go on to do good things. Kids are getting to high school and they cannot read.Parent Review1mo ago - Vine Street School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBest school by far. We recently moved out of state and wish we could find a school as caring as the teachers and principal are here. They focus on the Individual needs do the child. It was a pleasure.Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 84 Ohio St #1.

"Roads are kept clear but there is a lot of bad potholes, the worst ones do usually get filled in and traffic is medium to heavy if there are events.. daily commute is fair early in the morning"

"We all look out for each other and our families. It is a wonderful community to raise a family in. We hope to be in this same neighborhood until our son graduates high school. "

"Family friendly neighborhood and even the streets can be used as playgrounds. Especially Glencove has a geometry that keeps all cars below the 25 mph speed limit and since the street goes nowhere, just loops back to Saratoga, low volume of traffic. "

"Lots of kids near where I live, but it’s not exactly the best place to live as far as apartments go. Thin walls, no privacy or fences your neighbors are always no less then 20 to 30 feet away."

"I have lived in the Bangor area for 8 months now and everyone around me is very nice and always say "hi". I like the convenience of the stores being close by."

"Good trails to walk dogs, however, Not enough trash cans to throw poop bags away. Finishing rentals that accept dogs is also difficult. "

"My neighborhood has public transportation but it could be greatly improved. If I were to take it, I wouldn’t know how to start. This is coming from someone who could only get around with public transit back in the day. But then I lived in Europe. I drive my own car now. "

"There are a lot of dogs in the neighborhood. The only worry I would have if I owned a dog is a random dog off of a lease attacking my dog. "
