7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am the parent of a special needs child. All the medical professionals I have taken him to agree with this statement. Yet, the so called specialist at Ewa Elementary school deemed my child to not qualify for special services. As a direct result, of my child being denied an IEP twice, my child was slipping through the cracks at this school. My child needed, and should have had the chance to learn like everyone else. Instead, what my child got was HURT, literally HURT. My child suffered a major head injury on this campus, resulting in a permanent scar on my child's face. This school did not even call 911, despite the fact that the head injury was a gaping hole and bleeding profusely. I have pictures to back up this statement. IF you have a child, whom is anything but typical, defined by the so called specialist at this school. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL! if you are in this district, beg, plead and do whatever it takes to get a GE. Or if you can MOVE out of Ewa Elementary School district, then do it for the care of your atypical child. I my experiences with this school, I would not recommended them to any parent.Parent Review9y ago - James Campbell High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy children lasted one week here before my husband and I ripped them out. The office staff seems like they absolutely hate their jobs and parents. The kids there don’t care for children that are white and my boys were targeted in the bathroom based on that alone. Physically target by kids they had never seen or spoken to before. We bought a home in Ewa and love our home and neighbors but the schools are awful. Thankfully we can do private. James Campbells solution to bullying of children is during breaks and lunches, for them to join the other white children outside a teachers classroom every day and stick together in hopes that they wouldn’t be bullied or hurt. They couldn’t even use the bathroom alone without being harassed. There’s a reason they have a uniform dress code there. The kids are unruly and the parents are even worse. We now commute our children to a safer school on the other side of the island where uniforms aren’t required and they are safe and haven’t had one incident since James Campbell. The place is an absolute disgrace to education.Parent Review2y ago - Anuenue School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageEwa Makai has an entire class dedicated to health and stress relief. My son is teaching me about "positive psychology." He is being taught how to meditate and do yoga. They learn a new stress relief technique everyday. Some they will like and some they will not but they are learning how to manage anxiety in sixth grade. I got a phone call from my son's teacher to tell me HE WAS PARTICIPATING AND MS. JOY APPRECIATED HIM SHARING HIS THOUGHTS WITH THE CLASS. I have only gotten calls when my sons were in trouble. This school practices what they preach. They have positive discipline and it works. My son is a different student. Thank you to Ms. Joy, Ms. Guy and Mr. Gleeson. We have transfered 6 times. This is the best school they have been to.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 91-1200 Mikohu St #44-D.

"In the mornings if I have an early shift the traffic is horrible coming out of Ewa Beach. If I work the afternoon/night shift it isn’t bad at all. If planning on working in town, leave about 1.5 hours earlier to get there on time because traffic is unpredictable."
