4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHey, Guys don't go to this school. This feels like a prison to everyone. Even if you are a good student with good grades, the security guards are harsh and very rude and hate their jobs. They feel the need to yell at you because they can. You can't go to the bathroom like a normal person & you have 2 minutes in the bathroom and yell when you pass 2 minutes in the bathroom. Also the lunch is very bad & under cooked. In the morning you have to go through metal detectors & bag checks and you have your student Id.s with you or you will have to pay $5 for another one & you get detention, plus it is worse when you are late to school. They do random hall sweeps (that is when the teacher will lock the door & if you are not in the class when the bell rings, the rude security guards will sweep you up to a detention room. They will close off hallways for dumb reasons (like you have a class near a part a hallway is cut off, they will make you walk around the school & make you late even more. Also this school is a big prison cell, where once 2:30 hits everyone runs out the door. This school will make you mental and physically depressed from having 9 periods and as seniors that pack up you with class even you just need 2-3 more classes to take for credit. I think school needs to work making this school a sad and nasty place. I would never come back to this school even if someone paid me a million bucks, that's how bad this school is. There is nothing exciting here and motivation to come to school everyday. Mostly all students here either want to skip school or just drop school because of the treatment here.Student Review4mo ago - Walnut Street Elementary School

"Strong elementary schools, 2 colleges, mall, 3 parks and Walmart. There are a lot of people that stay in Uniondale or leave and come back to Uniondale because when you see how other neighborhoods are you know that Uniondale is special and you’d want your children to have the experiences like yours."

"I lived in Uniondale for 22 years . Went to elementary , junior high and high school here and I loved it all . We are a cultured town with many ethnicities but we live together peacefully. I like how close I am to parkways. I like how convenient our location is to shopping centers and activities around the area. "

"That it’s important to keep your kids busy in after school programs , or if the are able to work help them find work . There are a lot of drugs coming in our community , and a lot of gang recruiter out here pulling in the youths . "
