3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has been at this school for 5 years. The last 4 years I have tried to get her out. She has been waitlisted each year. Every year the school goes down. They lack supervision. Kids do whatever they want. They have no respect for authority. Security Officers are a joke. Some teachers care while others show up to collect a paycheck. Office staff can be very rude. My child has expressed that she doesn't feel safe and the staff could care less. Academically this school sucks. My child is a bright kid always scoring very high on the state testing. She does not feel challenged at all here so I have to find ways to challenge her at home so she doesn't get bored. I am afraid that if she does get accepted somewhere else she is going to be behind. There are so many kids that go there that are disruptive so the ones who want to learn can't. I DO NOT recommend sending your child here. N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is a mess- administration is terrible. Teachers are hit and miss- some are great others don't care at all and let students fail all the time. The school is not safe and there are fights a lot and my daughter can't even learn in some of her classes because the other kids don't let the teacher teach. "Porchfest in September - huge event throughout the west end featuring local bands performing on front porches. Dinearound - fundraiser in the winter movies in the park - movies showing in Elizabeth park throughout the summer"

"My neighborhood is close and convenient for bus/car commute with Farmington Avenue at one area and the 84E & W ramp at the other. Occasionally, traffic is congested, but those two avenues of travel make it so much easier to get where I need to go. "

"The West End has such a strong sense of community. It is by far the best neighborhood I’ve lived in, and I have lived all over the US, including Boston, LA, and San Diego. I can’t imagine raising my son anywhere else. I love this neighborhood."

"One of the great neighborhoods left. People know each other and get together. It's beautiful, and in the middle of everything, work just minutes away, fabulous park, on three bus lines, walk to all the necessities and great little restaurants. Zip to three great theaters, art and revival movie houses, outdoor concerts, several colleges, I've lived here as a young married woman, no kids, then raised a family and now as a retiree - all in the same Victorian house. A great eclectic place. Friendships last a lifetime."
