4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kids have loved every teacher that they’ve had here! Love the free events that the PTO puts on for the school! Open communication with their teachers, they’re at grade level or above, and they’re excited to go to school. Not a fan of this new 4-day school calendar but the decision has been made.Parent Review1mo ago - Hemphill Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school administration and school district is NOT prepared nor in the appropriate mindset for the population growth that has been happening over the last 5 years. They got a new superintendent this year that is really good with talking the talk, unfortunately it only allows further masking and denial of the issues with misappropriation of funding, bias for “keeping that small town feel” aka denial of the need to change and more appropriately provide for students. The elementary just went through a decent remodel, but the middle school and high school are extremely lacking in the ability to even house students let alone provide appropriate provisions. The middle school only has two hallways that they cram students in, 6th graders are exposed to behaviors and environments that are premature for their age which throws them into their own social emotional disruption and distraction. There is terrible bullying, mental and social health problems, and the school administration blameshifts and gaslights parents and students that try to get help. They are extremely judge mental and do not activate IEP or 504 processes or provisions unless students are very obviously disabled and low functioning, their go-to reason for not following 504’s as well as denying IEP protections is that a student must be failing at least 3 core classes. Parents who are active in their students lives and academic experience are talked trash on, haphazardly placated, dismissed, and even with an ARC advocate the schools do not consistently and completely follow 504’s and IEPs. Even with doctor diagnosis, doctor’s letters, and release of information forms for them to communicate with outside providers. They pay millions each year to the eastern plains chapter of BOCES but the bias controls the outcome. The schools play dumb because they outsource special needs provisions but actually control and manipulate processes so they appear as if they are in compliance. The high school only has two elective classes and NO CAFETERIA so the kids go to a local gas station or the dollar general and aren’t interested in their campus. The middle school is atrocious and a terrible environment. These kids are NOT getting what students their age need to support a healthy and productive transition to their teens. Shame on you Strasburg!Parent Review1y ago - Strasburg High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf I could give a zero I would. Love the small town, but the schools are a joke. Wish I would of found this sight before moving here. My kids come home everyday saying they have no homework and most of their classes they had free time and played on their phones. Why are phones allowed in the classroom to begin with. They say the teacher give them a work sheet that has 5 problems on it and then don’t grade it. No instruction, no learning, just passing the time to pump kids through. We have not especially been welcome in the town as outsiders and it shows that the mentality to push our childrens education is not wanted in this district. They know that half the kids won’t graduate so they let them slide with skipping class, the teachers have to backbone because the administration does absolutely nothing because they are afraid of the parents likely. This district needs some serious admins to step in and turn it around or this town and schools will be forever doomed. Don’t enroll your children here. You will regret it.Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near PARCEL One #2.

"This is a small bedroom community 25 miles east of Denver. It offers a hometown feeling, friendly people and laid back life style. Great schools and growing recreation programs. Easy access to I 70 and just 20 mins from Denver International airport. You may pass a rider on horseback or a John Deere tractor parked next to a BMW. You can see the top of Pikes Peak when looking south on a clear day. If your sick of city living and don't want to move to the suburbs Strasburgs country front range living is a prefect fit. Raise your own chickens let your dogs off lease and your kids grow up with country values. "
