8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe recently moved to the area and one of the reasons we chose to live in Weddington, was because of the great ratings of Weddington Schools. Even still, we were nervous because our children attended schools that were top ranked (#1) in the state of Florida, so I was sure my standards would be high. When I tell you that Weddington schools have exceeded my expectations, I am not exaggerating. The teachers are incredibly intelligent, they care deeply for each child and the entire staff at the school is warm, welcoming and they instill values in these children that will go well beyond the classroom. In a world where there's a lot of uncertainty about the safety of our children in any public environment, I can confidently say that I feel incredibly safe at this school, in addition to the fact that they are getting a quality education to prepare them for the rest of their academic careers. 8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was bullied several times here. I reported it to admin and they said they would help if I reported it again but failed to when I did so. The counselors barley helped with actual mental health issues. the counselors office was comforting but still. This school needs to get a better disciplinary action structure. The education system pushes kids way too hard. A teacher here bullied my brother but didn't get fired. Most teachers here were great but some were horrible. 10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth my kids attended Weddington high school and had a great learning experience. I also volunteered in the front office and will tell you that the kids at this school are polite and respectful. The kids care about their academic performance but are also down to earth. I found Weddington to be a very balanced place for my kids. The other thing to know, is that alot of the kids have moved into the area so they know what it is like to be "the new kid". The high school has a new principal so don't let one bad one who was here for less than six months scare you away.Parent Review6y ago

"Lots of dogs. HOA requires dogs to be on leashes or in positive control by some other means. Lots are min 2 acres, min 2 dogs per, so reasonable distribution "

"Honestly I can't think of a safer place to raise a family than this neighborhood. All of the neighbors "I" know are very friendly. Pretty cheap places also to start off a new life. Would rate neighborhood a 9/10."

"If you are looking for a great family community nestled between horse farms and a blended country/suburban atmosphere, Weddington should be on your short list. Public schools are ranked at the top of the State consistently. Great place to raise a family. Small town feel, with access to all the big town amenities. "
