They liked to complain about problems but offered little to no solutions at all. Same goes for the principal who seemed to be fine with the less that impressive conduct of the teachers. No adults seemed to care about the constant cursing and fights that happened in the halls. N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageEnglish Village Teachers, Principal, Vice Principal and Faculty are amazing. I had one child in Kindergarten and have seen major improvements all around. All the teachers are there because they love to teach and care for the children. The school has great communication with the parents. E.V. also has a monitored locked security entrance. The lunch menu and lunch ladies are wonderful they offer breakfast and lunch. The library and librarian are extremely involved in your child's everyday school experience, she offers online books at home. The kids love it! The P.E. program is wonderful and the teacher is fantastic. The art and music program is good too. Our family LOVES E.V. and you will too!!!! E.V. is pre-k to 2nd grade. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy overall experience at Arcadia High School was awful, there are police dog searches at least weekly for all the drugs that circulate that school, as well as police always stationed on campus waiting for something to happen. The teachers here are not interested in helping you graduate, and the drop out rate here is unbelievable. I dropped out of Arcadia after one tireless year there, had to homeschool to get my diploma. 2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am not sure what criteria some reviewers use when evaluating/scoring their elementary school experience, but I can tell you, my daughter was very fortunate to have been a part of such a wonderful community. Mr. Palermo is an excellent, very visible and hands on principal. Mr. L- that my daughter had the lucky benefit of taking band lessons (clarinet) was from start to finish almost singularly responsible for her choosing to continue in her music pursuits, along with the irreplaceable and gifted Chorus instructor. Finally, to have been blessed with the extraordinary teachings (scholastic, moral and character-building) of Mrs. Bruyns and Calabrese - well.. there i'm sure could not have been a better foundation for her to go forward into middle school with. Thank you. We came from Webster system. I was worried to be honest if her studies would be compromised in the change to environment. I was wrong.
