My kid has several educational issues and we worked HARD for her grades with an IEP . We transfered to another school at the end of the year because her grades dropped to D's and F's . He was bullied, left behind, and now thinks he’s stupid because he doesn’t learn the same way his peers do. His self confidence is at an all time low thanks to this school. I had to fight tooth and nail, even threatened legal action, just to get my son an educational plan. My son has special needs and was denied the care he needed. 9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCons: This school is not for someone looking for any "easy out" of the traditional brick and mortar school. The coursework is very time consuming. Many typical daily assignments in the virtual school would be broken down and completed as multiple assignments over weeks at a traditional school. The virtual school also expects the student to have a firm handle on all basic computer programs; including Powerpoint presentations, Excel, Word processing, emailing, submitting audio files, digital files, etc. For someone just starting out, the time it takes to learn the programs and processes of submitting work via the internet has to be accounted for. This is my son's first year at the school and he has learned both subject material and computing skills. Pros: The system keeps parents aware of what is going on with the student and in a very timely manner. "My neighborhood is residential and in the suburbs. There is little to no crime here and all the supermarkets and fast food places are very easy to get to. We also have local public high school junior high school middle school and elementary also Headstart schools. "

"Traffic can be tricky! Hwy 98 is the main thoroughfare between Pensacola and Destin. If there is an accident, it can back up traffic for hours. "
