3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAgnor-Hurt is a fantastic, loving school and I am so glad we chose to send our children here. We were nervous because of the very low rating here, and toured all the private schools in the area before enrolling. But touring Agnor Hurt and talking to neighbors who are so happy there convinced us to give it a try- and I'm so glad we did!! Our twin kindergartners have received a great education in a very loving, non-competitive environment. They have a rich curriculum and give the children plenty of time to move, dance, play, create, and participate in hands on learning. After coming from a private preschool that my kids were never excited about, I have loved watching them flourish here. They have a love of learning that they didn't have last year, and a great deal more self confidence. They proudly wear their Agnor-Hurt t-shirts as often as possible! The school also has an excellent gifted and talented teacher/program, and plenty of opportunity to get involved as a parent. Please don't let the low test scores scare you off - because you'll be missing out on a wonderful experience.Parent Review8y ago - Albemarle High School

"Street gatherings are the best. Also love community activities at the community pool, food trucks, social media connections and nature trail."

"This city could do some work. The streets are too narrow. Highway 29 is too chaotic and out of place. Charlottesville is too small to have a 8 lane road"

"Close to U V A, downtown, Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello and everything C’ville but surrounded by nature. We have the best of both worlds! I can not believe how many good supermarkets we have in the area. There are so many nature trails for walking and hiking. "

"Nothing unless you want to count the crime!!! The Spark is a terrible place to live! Gone through countless managers with everyone promising to make a change and the only thing that changes is the staff. Nothing gets fixed and the current office manager is rude. There is a serious rodent issue that everybody ignores and continually sends the insect companies to spray just so they can say they are doing something. Can’t wait to leave!!!"

"Medium to large homes (1500 - 4000 sq ft) built mostly in the 1970s. The houses are well built and are not all the same. There is mature tree over, a lot of wildlife (especially birds) and wide streets. The neighborhood has an optional neighbors association that organizes picnics and holiday parties. The best part is that Canterbury Hills is close to both UVA and downtown. You’ll never have to drive more than 10 minutes to go just about anywhere in town or immediately surrounding areas. "
