My nephew finished his kindergarten here at STEAM with Ms Pligml- she’ one of the best Teacher. Principal, Teachers and Staff were the best. Respectful, INCLUSIVE, Accommodating. Maybe the location of the school is not that great but other than that, I have nothing but great things to say about this school.

the school is horrible for a child with diabetes, the teachers are uneducated about the disease and when the 504 plan is done, most do not show up for the meeting. My daughter has been here 3 years now and out of 5 or 6 teachers she is lucky to have 1 a year that sees her potential.

Teachers pick on the boys more than the girls. At PTC this year my sons teacher strongly suggested we get him seen for ADD and suggested we get him medicated. Not the teachers place at all to suggest. My son tells me that the girls in his class rarely ever get in trouble and the boys always do. Also when I received my sons year book last week I realized that all of the classroom teachers are female. They should really have more male teachers to be able to connect better with the boys at the school.

The absolute worst four years of my life. Many teachers just did not care. A vivid memory which was a good example of this: a teacher wrote an assignment on the chalkboard - Read chapter 5 and answer questions 1-10. The teacher then proceeded to sit at his desk reading a newspaper. Worthless.

Hand down, this is the best school in Illinois. I am from the suburbs of Chicago, and I believe this school is the best! Students are expected to perform at a high level and if they cannot take it then they have an option to leave. My older child feels high school is a breeze because of what he had learned in the gifted school.
