4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a horrible school. As a teacher myself, I have a pretty good understanding of child development. Time and again, this school has shocked me. They put my daughter in a high school credit math class without my consent. When I protested, they told me that she had to stay in that class because there was no other place for her. When I went to the principal with my concern and told her she was struggling a lot and had an F, he told me that most of the students did but they would be graded on a curve and she would most likely end up with a B. I asked what happens when she goes to high school and cannot complete the work in the class that follows and he told me that "that was the high schools job, not his!" I have since made arrangements to move my child to citrus county schools. I don't want her to be given her grades and I want her to understand the material. "Commuting from Bushnell is the worst. over an hour to Tampa or Orlando, 40 mins to Clermont and Ocala. Local job market is primarily in public service, skilled trade, cement, or small retail."

"People frequent the flea market in Webster. South Sumter High School has a pretty good football team for those interested in going to local games. There is a fall festival with a good fireworks show each year. Most are involved in some sort of agricultural activities, and there are many livestock auctions. The county fair in the spring is big here. "
