7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNot very good. Immediately we were looked down on because "We didn't buy the right kind of marker brands" when we first came into the school system. The maturity level of the staff was very low. I was informed by a lawyer "That as sad as it seems, we need to try to invoke empathy in some school teachers". We were new here from another state and my child's health issue was put in a different section of his IEP, leaving it to be unenforceable. Putting his life in endanger due to his medical condition. If you have a disabled child, do not send them here. The academics are from a "cross the board" perspective in his classroom. He brings home a lot of work that has been done for him and does not benefit him in the long run. If your child is into sports, they do offer a ton of sports programs in this community, that looks like a lot of fun. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth of my children attended High Point elementary and had an absolutely amazing experience. It was all downhill from there. They went from truly caring and engaged teachers to mediocre middle school teachers and then onto high school, with most teachers that really could’ve cared less about my students. The administration is even worse. Trying to get in contact with a VP would take WEEKS. I have a daughter with dyslexia and her 504 plan was completely ignored. Nothing was done that was supposed to be done for her accommodations and the bullying is absolutely rampant in the school, with nothing ever being done about it. “One Pride” only apples to select students and others are tossed aside. We actually had such a terrible experience that after my oldest graduated last year, and my youngest was heading into her sophomore year, We pulled her from the school. She was unenrolled in July and I got a call just a couple weeks ago asking if she had been ill since she hadn’t been to any of her classes for the first SEVEN WEEKS of school. So you thought my daughter was supposed to be in class every day for 7 weeks and this is the first phone call?? I have no idea where they come up with the 20:1 ratio. My kids have never been in a class with only 20 classmates EVER. We move to Gahanna 12 years ago because of the school district, but unfortunately, we came to regret that decisions once they moved on from elementary.Parent Review6mo ago - High Point Elementary School
