Educators at this site are eager to make change for the betterment of their students and community. Academically, educators have agreed to up the rigor across the board. Educators continue to build on their social emotional learning instruction so the needs of the whole student are met. Chemawa's athletic programs are second to none as students are being prepped for high school and collegiate competition. While there is always room for improvement and more work to be done, educators at Chemawa are excited to do the work. Racist school. 77% Hispanics 6 percent black, lower percentage other races. If you're Hispanic you'll be fine. Not much support from the teachers and upper management system. 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a terrible high school. The atmosphere is very unwelcoming. Many staff members here are extremely rude and strict. Some teachers give you overwhelming amounts of homework and only one day to do it even though they sometimes don't upgrade the grade book on time when report cards are about to get sent out. I had a Spanish teacher for level 2 Spanish that spoke Spanish 75% of the time in class even though some of us did not understand a lick of it, and we had no daily routine whatsoever. Not to mention there is no shade during lunch, so when it gets really sunny or rains hard there is no where comfortable to sit. 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt's unfortunate that the school rating isn't higher. I have been attending RVS since the beginning of middle school, and will now be graduating in 2017. This program has provided me with new and different opportunities to expand my knowledge. All of my teachers put in effort to aid me in achieving my educational and personal goals. 9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a student that is in 7th, I have a lot to say. The school can be a little intimidating once you are new, but if you are friendly and talk to people you find nice, you will feel more confident there. However, there are a few issues of drama since there are a few bullies that occasionally harass you, but if you find a way to make peace and chill a little, they can be pretty nice and smart. The staff is nice and the teachers are very kind and will help you with anything. "I have lived here 16 years. It’s quiet and we do have a lot of walkers in the mornings and evenings which is nice. There are still a few rough houses but most people are maintaining and improving their vehicles. We do see an occasional person parking on their grass but almost everyone has 2-3 vehicles and is responsible and respectful of others. We do have a mail thief but I bought a locking mailbox so no worries there."

"I drive my own car but if I didn’t have a car I could easily go downtown by getting on the metro. There is a bus stop walking distance from my house. I’ve never taken the city bus and might be a little frightened at first as I’ve seen some questionable people on the bus. I have taken the train and that seems pretty safe to me but you never know. No"
