Description

Renovations to the residence (exposed brick, cypress floors, 13ft ceilings, two fire places per story) are eligible for up to 45% in historic tax credits, to create your own custom French Quarter home for pennies on the dollar. Envision a " top floor" master suite w/ vaulted ceiling, rooftop views, walk-in closet and master bath; a "main floor" open concept kitchen/living room, w/ floor to ceiling windows and balcony from which to view several Mardis Gras parades including “Barkus”; and the "ground floor" ideal for an office, an artist’s studio, a mother-in-law apartment or two private guest suites. Located in a friendly residential neighborhood, a short walk to Bourbon St and a block from Armstrong Park and the Rampart streetcar; the townhouse is currently comprised of three condo units, to be sold as a package and "as is". The townhouse is one of two separate structures on the lot, and as the seller owns both buildings, it allows for few shared costs and most notably “no condo fees”.

"Fun, historical, and vibrant neighborhood! However, you must always be aware of your surroundings, and there is a lot of crime unfortunately."

"Safe place to live. Would highly recommend making this place your next home. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. "

"There are some dog boutiques and soggy daycares in the neighborhood. Very walkable for dog owners. Woof. Woof. "

"French quarter is honestly not for children... it’s not the safest place to raise a family.. but not sure of any areas in New Orleans that are . "
- Trulia User

"convenient location for all places French quarter related. most businesses are dog friendly. close proximity to dog park as well as children's playground. amazing restaurants all around."
- Kellikpatrick

"Not really a good area for children. Great area if you want to sell your car and walk or take trolley/public transportation. If you do own a car, be prepared to pay a monthly fee for parking on top of rent. Many places do not offer onsite parking and street parking can be hard to find. "
- Nightmarishe222

"It's perfect for kids , a wonderful place to live , However not for the average but above average person's . "

"The Architecture and history. Buildings are beautiful. The city is full of Culture. Great food. "
- Lynne J.
- Resident

"No commute. If I had one, I’d be miserable. Not because of the traffic, which is always horrible, or the one-ways and no left turn lanes, but because of the wretched condition of the roads. Potholes have potholes and there’s no rush to fix it. "
- Jpsuth
- Resident

"There is a great park with a wonderful pay area for children on Dauphine between Gov. Nichols and Barracks. The neighborhood is friendly and we’ve always felt comfortable walking at night."
- Roudolficherika1

"no yards for dogs to use the restroom but they do have parks near by for them. super friendly area and very dog friendly "
- Christopher M.
- Resident

"It is the most expensive neighborhood in the city. There are schools and churches but mostly bars. It is fun to live here for events and festivals but driving and parking can be bothersome. "
- Mary E.

"I walk to work, normally use my car about once a week. I bike if I’m going to close CBD, warehouse district, Marigny etc"
- Rdusenbery
- Resident

"The best bet for walking your dog is going to Riverfront Park, which is three blocks away. Not convenient in bad (or hot) weather."
- Kortnei C.
- Resident

"people are always walking their dogs on the river walk. just pick up your dogs dodo please. nice place to meet and chat with other fur parents."
