7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur experience at the Brackett was poor. We felt that the principal was unhelpful and wouldn’t respond to parents, unless they had a lawyer. My students’ needs were dismissed until we pulled her out. (My student also received a head injury by a large rock thrown at her on the playground. There shouldn’t have been such large rocks lying around.) The academic emphasis was on MCAS scores, to the detriment of subjects and skills not measured by standardized tests. There’s a new principal, I heard, which is good news and bodes well for improvement.Parent Review7mo ago - Ottoson Middle School

"Lots of places to walk your dog with plenty of hills for good exercise. Local park has off-leash times for pup to roam (with your supervision of course)"

"I’ve lived here for three years and wish I didn’t. Crime, broken windshields, stolen bikes. Just like I was living in NYC in the 80’s. "

"Summer music event has been very well organized every year. A lot of libraries and sing along events for kids. Not to mention tons of playgrounds, parks, trails that are easily accessible to residents."

"Arlington center is lovely, historic, convenient and a perfect blend of suburb and city. Just too bad they blocked the red line from coming here. "
- Malissa B.

"I work from home because the commute is a bit of a pain. If I do go into our Back Bay office, it can take upwards of 25 minutes to drive to Alewife station and an addition 40-60 minutes to take the T to Boston."

"There really isn’t a better place in terms of density - not too dense but not completely auto-reliant. Mass transit and distribution of retail throughout neighborhoods could be better so we don’t have to use cars at all. "
- Allysonsaunders

"There are many dog owners frequently walking dogs. We are also a couple of blocks from the mystic river with a beautiful natural walk way that is very popular with dog walkers."
