5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was a student at Benjamin Franklin. I started at this school when I was in Pre-K, and I am now in the 9th grade at Lusher School. When I attended this school before Hurricane Katrina it was a magnet school meaning you had to take a test. After Katrina the school was obliged to allow any student in without taking a test. The teachers at Benjamin Franklin do not care about the child's education, they do not have a great disciplinary system at all and they just student do whatever they choose at this school. That is why I decided to leave for 8th grade at Lusher School. I will say that the only good thing about Benjamin Franklin is that it goes from Pre-K to 8th grade. "I’ve lived here for 3 years. I just rent, but if I could afford a house here I would buy it, assuming it wasn’t a dump. The point is, it’s a nice New Orleans neighborhood. People are friendly, it’s pretty safe, there’s some good food and bars. Its centrally located and the greenway is a super fast and easy bike ride to the quarter. Groceries are super close and easy to get to as well. "

"This was my grandmother's house for 20+ years prior to Katrina. She lived downstairs, and it was kept immaculate. Great neighborhood, great neighbors, and a beautiful place to live. It's a happy house full of memories I wish I could relive in a heartbeat."
