"Lots of dog lovers/owners live in our area and we see them very frequently walking their dogs on the streets and many footpaths in close proximity to our home. There is a converted rail Ed footpath immediately next to our residence building and it extends for several miles in each direction( north & south, connecting with innumerable streets and other neighborhoods we are walking distance to the newly developed river walk and the large riverfront village park where public festivals are held each summer and Fall. Manrestaurants are within one mile or less from our home from burger and pizza places to haute cuisine, Zagat-rated restaurants with excellent wine lists. Very broad range of offerings. "

"Great schools and lots of park options, but understand this is a more rural city spread out over about 48 sq. mi. So you’ll be driving the kids to many places and we’re my kids still young enough to to use their bikes, there are a number of busier or faster-limited roads on which I would be skittish about allowing them to ride without immediate adult supervision. BUT... there are many high-end subdivision which favor lower speeds and have a more tranquil, quieter and more peaceful character"

"Great place to raise your children! Mequon schools are some of the best! Very safe and quiet neighborhoods, very friendly people. I would definitely raise my family here. My wife went to all the mequon schools and has nothing but great things to say about them. "

  • James R.
"There’s a healthy Community “pride” in the vast majority of Mequon’s neighborhoods. It’s still a semi-rural city more than a “sub-urban” city with roughly 40%of the geography in farmstead p try operatives or estate-sized parcels of a 5-acre minimum. Some high-end subdivisions, but not the mass-production type, with McMansions, found in over-developed areas with low architectural standards such as those based only upon high square footage minimums, not character of construction execution."
