7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved to Martha's Vineyard in September of 2012, when he began attending West Tisbury for 6th grade we found out that my son was behind in Math and Language Arts. The teachers here were excellent, they assessed the skills he had not learned in elementary school in NH then put a plan in place to help him learn those needed skills while keeping him up to speed with the current curriculum. By the end of the school year he was at grade level with his peers and had to confidence to begin loving school. "In the winter the tourists leave and the island gets quiet. It stays relatively warm due to the Gulf Stream pulling warm water north to insulate the Sound and even though the trees loose their leaves, all the moisture creates the perfect conditions for incredibly beautiful sea-foam green lichen and mosses to cover every organic surface. Therefore, the blissful hue saturates the fog and mist; enveloping every road and path throughout the island. It’s the perfect place to forget the Internet for awhile and relish in getting purposefully lost! Enjoy it with friends or better yet, enjoy the solitude; listen to the wind whistle through the trees, hear the waves crash into the shore, and forget about everything but the moment you’re experiencing right then and now! "

"I take the bus to and from work . Car for longer distances. Boat to get to the main land which is 45min ride."

"This community has a great mix of full time and summer residents, so it never feels deserted. Lady Slipper Way is part of the Spring Hill Association, a cul de sac like small community, with fully paved roads and moderate homes. Walking distance to town, tennis and Lake Tashmoo."

"Have vacationed in MV for more than 10 years. While it has faced a rise in visitors, given its Presidential spotlight, it remains a wonderful place to vacation!!"
