Description
Set amongst green hillside views and swaying trees in Mount Washington, this delightful retreat surrounded by nature is a fantastic foray into home ownership or a perfect pied-a-terre in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in LA! The current owners have transformed this home with stunning upgrades. The main level has been renovated into an open concept kitchen with cozy dining and sitting areas. The upgraded kitchen features butcher block countertops, floating shelves, cork flooring, new cabinetry, Fisher and Paykel appliances and a Wolf range. New windows and french doors open to reveal the spacious Ipe wood deck, rebuilt in 2020, with plenty of room to grill, host friends for dinner, and relax. The upstairs is highly functional, with a loft space that doubles as a secondary living room and office, updated bathroom, newly created bedroom plus walk-in closet with built-in organization, stackable washer/dryer and a robust linen/utility closet for even more storage. Established native plantings and new mulch dot the hillside. As you descend below the palm tree to the lower terrace, there is a fabulous view deck and additional flat sunny graveled pad for sunbathing- or perhaps a future office or cowboy pool location...Recent improvements include a new roof, new split system, new doors and windows, new hot water heater, and exterior painting. Direct entry one car garage completes this offering. An incredibly well maintained home in a picturesque setting, close to Mount Washington Elementary. Private viewings are available, please contact Listing Agent.

"I've lived in this area for 9 years and love it, although the housing market has shot up in that time and its not somewhere I personally can afford to buy. its is, in my opinion one of the most beautiful places in LA. With gentrification has come a multitude of cool bars and restaurants. Its pretty great overall and I'll be sad to leave it when I buy outside the city."

"One of the community events that have been memorable to me throughout the ages was the annual Halloween event by the self realization center. There were hundreds of amazingly carved jack o lanterns. It was truly amazing "

" My friend is moving from here after 25 years so I’ve practically lived here also. And her street is a dead end which is peaceful. Up at the top of Mt Washington and the view is spectacular. East, West, and North. Always 10 degrees cooler than Pasadena. And with a breeze. Wish I lived here. Those who do are the lucky ones. "

"My Washington is tremendously dog friendly. I have 3 dogs and plenty of yard and walking space. Many dog lovers up here. "

"In my area of Mount Washington, there seems to be more couples and not a lot of children. Many artists, writers and musicians. And a lot of dogs and cats! I know there are several parks nearby, with a beautiful elementary school so there must be young children up here somewhere! I just don’t see many around. "
