5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNo problems with any teachers except for Math. Seemed this teachers focus was more on coaching sports vs. teaching in the classroom. Tried to get extra help for my student numerous times. Asked for lesson plans ahead of time so we could get extra practice in when needed but was put off saying my student was doing fine and didn't need it. (C's and D's are not my definition of fine)Tried escalating to Principals but my complaints fell on deaf ears aparently. My student often came home talking about kids using bad language all the time and fights breaking out.One student reportedly threw their chromebook at another who moved out of the way but the chromebook smashed against a wall resulting in the fire department needing to be dispatched for the resulting fire. (Lithium Ion batteries do not take well to damage)As other reviewers have mentioned the Principals seem to talk a lot about students needing to be courteous and respectful to each other but it seems to be just talk and no action.Parent Review1y ago - Hubbard Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTotally disappointed with Hubbard. They changed their name after my child started attending, no longer "mastery", likely because they could not live up to the title. Everytime I go to the school they make feel like I am inconveniencing them in some way. Bare minimum effort and lackadaisical attitudes by most of the staff, an example of the district as a whole.Parent Review2y ago - Whetstone High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has involved parents and families and a great mix of kids from all different backgrounds. There are plenty of opportunities for kids interested in performing arts and sports, plus AP and college credited courses. The building is in a safe neighborhood next to Whetstone Park.Parent Review3y ago - Check out schools near 640 Neil Ave.

"Diverse neighborhood and close to everything. Easy access to bike trails and plenty of options for exercise. Only lived here 2 months but so far so good. "

"Great area. Safe, quiet off of High St, and beautiful. Wish we could live here longer, but the homes are expensive to purchase, so renters have a hard time staying in the neighborhood long-term. "

"I have an excellent commute. I work at OSU and take the 8 in COTA directly down Neil. It takes me a total of 15 minutes with traffic to get to work on the bus, and as few as 7 minutes when there’s no traffic. I never feel unsafe taking the bus on Neil. The High St COTA lines are less “residential” in their passengers and more crowded, but I still take those lines from time to time no problem. "

"I love living in Victorian Village. It offers the perfect combination of being close in proximity to absolutely everything via walking, biking, or public transportation, while also feeling quiet and safe as a residential area. I don't feel like there is any other place near Columbus that offers as much as Victorian Village does in terms of accessibility, entertainment, and safety. We will gladly continue to live in the area as renters until we can purchase a house here."

"I love that there are parks and places within walking distance to eat and shop. It is a great place to be able to walk anywhere you need to go. Dog friendly "

"I have lived and worked in this neighborhood. You can walk to concerts, sporting events, restaurants, shopping and maybe even to work! I have enjoyed the festivals in Goodale Park, proximity to OSU and the Olentangy Greenway and love the fact that there is always something going on nearby. Overall I think this is one of the best neighborhoods in Columbus. In terms of schools, I understand they are average at best and that may be a limiting factor unless the children are going to attend a private school. Otherwise, this is a great place to live."

"I used to work and live in the area and can attest that it's close to everything you could want. Including local events, dining, arts/ entertainment and nightlife in the Short North. The parks in the area are safe and well maintained. Goodale is one of the best parks around! I could even walk to buy groceries. Friendly people, big on walking and pets. Lots of schools in the area. Easy to get to 670 and downtown."
