3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter has been coming to this school for 3years the only reason why she is still here is because its close to my babysitter. but i hate it the stuff in the office is very rude. i have try to speak to the principle and she is always busy i need to go thru the Assis Principle first.Parent Review6y ago - Bret Harte Preparatory Middle School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe interim principal Magan Mitchell withheld employee pay that was rightfully owed, possibly in retribution. She also drives a Land Rover (or Range Rover) whereas it is located in a South LA area where her pay grade enables her to buy (or lease/ have) this car in comparison to the surrounding families and student population.Parent Review1y ago - Alliance Judy Ivie Burton Technology Academy High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAll my years that I attended Burton it only made my education higher. I loved that we got challenged at this school and it brought my standards higher than expected. I was moved to a different school in Malibu but the school there didn’t teach me as to Burton Tech. I came back to Burton Tech because I loved the one on one with teachers. Since the ratio is so small within classes you do build a connection with many of your teachers there. I was also part of the after-school program and it really help me after for college. I was able to get into Cal State East Bay which was my top college I Choose. Thanks to Burton I was well prepared for college.Student Review5y ago - Check out schools near 622 W Century Blvd.

"I lived in this neighborhood for over a year. The weekends are loud you can hear music being played from houses down the street. Not walkable at all. Huge dogs everywhere and doesn’t feel the safest. Pretty dirty and unmaintained. Closest grocery store is a food for less which is dirty and not where I would want to buy my groceries."

"this area is a melting pot of many different long- standing Los Angeles lineages of all different types. there is a strong certain respect for people who have lived here all their lives and stand against letting the neighborhood be bought out i (gentrified) in any way. I admire it :) Also, there are some beautiful, beautiful front yard gardens ❤️"

"I've lived here for 3 years now and some of the neighbors are friendly and we all look out for one another. There's a laundry mat right across the street from where I live so it's really convenient when laundry needs to be done a plus about that is I don't have to cross a busy intersection it's right on the corner of a residential neighborhood. "There are a lot of lose dogs around the neighborhood and many aren’t trained so it can pose a threat to your dog. People don’t pick up after their dogs so there is poop on the sidewalks. Also it can be hard to walk your dog because there is a lot of trash on the street and sidewalks so your dog might chew things up. "

"Fairs and parks are plentiful, small block parks everywhere. We have 3 in a 8 block radius There is a homeless problem; that’s all over the country Theft is very low people respect each other’s property in that way. Not the prettiest are the newest but is fairly safe I catch the bus to work and it is actually the best bus line in the city of Los Angeles comes every five minutes it goes from Gardena to Hollywood every five minutes "

"Be diligent parents regardless of your neighborhood. Children look to their parents for guidance and protection. If economic means makes an undesirable neighborhood more suitable, bring awareness to your children about the importance of being humble, yet not allowing that same economical situation to be a hindrance to achievement. "There aren’t any that I am aware of. No sense of community here. It has a long way to go. The old houses are beautiful. Parking is a nightmare. Proximity to metro is great. "
