Description

Nestled on a corner lot between Ocean Av. and Montauk Av., this impeccably preserved 1902 Historical Landmark house stands as a testament to timeless elegance and was once a B&B in the early 1940's. Boasting original hardwood floors throughout, this residence offers spacious living and dining rooms, four bedrooms, and two baths on the second floor. The bathrooms feature rare original needle/rib showers, while updated custom-made Harvey windows and British-made stained glass windows add to the home's charm. Modern comfort seamlessly merges with historic allure, with a new variable-speed Viessman natural gas boiler providing eight zones of temperature control. The wrap-around porch, original brick columns with stucco finish, and granite foundation further enhance the property's architectural significance. Additionally, the basement, plumbed and zoned for a full bathroom and shower, offers potential for additional living space. Designed and owned by the reputable architect DUDLEY ST. CLAIR DONNELLY, this unique Queen Ann Spanish Victorian Revival masterpiece exudes Dudley's meticulous craftsmanship. With a rich history, including ownership by the renowned inventor Dr. Edward H. Angle, this home holds a distinguished place in architectural heritage. Bellevue Place, where the house is situated, adds to the property's allure, with its neighborhood featuring a center grass island. Just minutes away from the historic Amtrak Railroad Station and New London Ferris, and within walking distance to Ocean Beach. This residence seamlessly blends historic charm with modern convenience. Detailed drawings and archives are available online, showcasing the remarkable craftsmanship and historic charm of 58 Bellevue.
