7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePS 295 is an absolute gem - small, inclusive in all senses, warm and vibrant community. My kid is currently in K and we've been blown away by the skill and dedication of his teachers, and amazed all all he has learned in a few short months. My kid is young for his year, and struggles with anxiety and some fine motor delays. This kid was only scribbling over the summer, he is writing words and drawing self portraits now.The way PS 295 has met him where he is, truly connected with him, and is nurturing his growth is beyond my expectations of any school.Parent Review4mo ago - New Voices School Of Academic And Creative Arts

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child was in this school, and it was not challenging. The school focuses on teaching to the Common Core test starting day one. Unfortunately the teachers and administration are in the predicament of having to follow this path in order to keep jobs. It is a bad recipe for the kids. The kids are taught in a punitive environment - learning to fear rather than love school. The technology is hit or miss -- some teachers use it, others do not. Parent communication also is spotty -- the parent/teacher coordinator is phenomenal. The teacher/parent communication is difficult. One communication I sent to the guidance counselor with concern for my child was never returned. Ultimately we left for another school and see a night/day difference in the level of education.Parent Review8y ago - Park Slope Collegiate

"Please don’t bring more dogs to this neighborhood. We already have enough and owners already do a very poor job of either 1) picking up after them or 2) keeping them leashed. Saw a dog unlawfully unleashed in the park destroy a tree the other day. Continually have to ask owners to not let dogs defecate on our fenced sidewalk gardens. Just don’t. How hard is it? "
- Ashleynfoley
