4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is a mini prison they could careless about your child's safety. They have gang activity drugs sex bullying smoking and the staff does nothing. My kid was wrongfully suspended for being bullied the Principal Mr. Melee is a warden. Politics and protocol is what they like to use. The violence is out of control opt your children out immediately my kids use to love school until they got here. There is a handful of teachers who do care but that's it. My kids literally have to look over their shoulders hoping they won't get attacked. Trust nobody. The lunches are disgusting make sure to send your child with their own lunch. This school needs to be shut down. I do not recommend your child going here unless you want them being treated like inmates and being harassed by staff and students.Parent Review1y ago - Ps 44 Thomas C Brown

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI love the staff at this school. They make me feel appreciated and involved in everything that's going on. They all know my children by name. If myself or my husband or ex-husband goes to get the kids they know exactly who we are and can also call us by name. They all treat our kids like their own and always encourage them to do better in a positive way. It makes me feel great to know my kids are in such great hands and that they're safe in that school. The principal was out sick for a while and we were so worried about him because to us they're also like family to us. My children are well cared for and doing great academically. I couldn't have asked for a better school or staff to trust my children with. I'm very thankful for them.Other Review7y ago - Port Richmond High School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDont blame the school if your child is not a good student or you are not doing proper parenting at home and making them be on task and accountable for thier education! Don't go on the ratings of this school, this is a HIDDEN GEM. As long as your child is in a program, studies and apply themselves, they will succeed. The teachers, every single staff member is phenomenal. They truly watch out for your child and guide them all the way. I am a very proud parent who highly endorses this school. The college advisors put in the time and effort to guide your kid. My child scored phenomenal presidential scholarships due to this school and now is in #7 college in US with a full scholarship. The school has a very positive vibe and provides help with AP exams tutoring etc.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 56 Confederation Pl.

"I just moved into Mariner's Harbor from Bay Ridge Brooklyn and I'm actually really enjoying it. The real estate tax is HALF of what it was in Brooklyn! And even if I take the Verazzano Bridge everyday (back and forth), it still doesn't add up to the real estate tax I was paying. I have a 2 space parking garage and I'm still only 15 minutes away from Bay Ridge where my kids still go to school. I get there faster from Staten Island than when I was in Brooklyn with all that traffic. I still love Brooklyn and the Ridge, but this isn't bad at all. Love it here."
