Description
This property is no longer available to rent or to buy. This description is from March 26, 2024
This is not your typical West High home! Welcome to this spacious home that sits at the top of the street and overlooks the lush Entradero Park marsh and baseball fields and has panoramic city and neighborhood views. The property has an incredible curb appeal with a generous use of brick in its front hardscape and its impressive entry. There is a living room and two family rooms, one on the first level and one on the second level, and both with high ceilings. The first level also has two bedrooms plus an office (formerly a bedroom before the second floor was added). The second level is designed to be a possible "Mother-in-law" suite and has a second family room, a kitchenette, an office (could be a 4th bedroom), a 3rd bedroom with sweeping city/park views and a full bathroom. The exterior of the home was just painted and a new roof was installed within the last year. The backyard has a very private and nicely landscaped feel and overlooks the West High Little League fields, marsh, walking paths and much more. Located on one of the best streets in the West High area, this home offers a tremendous living space and is unlike all others!

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was very excited for my daughter to go here (this is not her home school) and I now regret sending her. I have had nothing but issues since the first day of 6th grade when rude office staff made my daughter cry because she had an issue with her locker to teachers bullying her into doing things and then lying about it when confronted. My daughter has always been an excellent student and a rule follower, almost to a fault, yet she is treated like a common criminal everyday at this school. I'm so sick of having to email the principal and the teachers because they cant figure out how to be strong role models and treat these kids with respect. Just because they are children, does not mean that they don't deserve respect and some grace in certain situations. If my daughter is terrified of making a mostake in class because the teacher will make fun of her, then something is absolutely wrong. The office lady needs to be fired immediately or have some serious training to figure out how to talk to children and adults alike. I have 2 more kids that are supposed to come through this school and I just can't imagine having to deal with this all over again. It's so disappointing.Parent Review5mo ago - Towers Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur home school was Victor but we get admission to towers due to late registration. Our son love to go to school and talk all good things he is experiencing in the class. We want him to continue in towers and enjoy his schooling. The teachers are great, the PTA is strong and overall, my son is having a great timeParent Review8y ago - West High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere are only a handful of good teachers at this school. The majority are either good people with terrible teaching abilities or teachers with a pretty okay teaching curriculum but absolutely horrendous personalities, with another portion of the staff just being terrible teachers and people. Multiple times students have informed the office about teachers with racist behavior or teachers with unsafe characteristics in the classroom, and have been completely ignored. Our campus staff has people who work hard to help maintain a safe and healthy school for students to attend. Still, it is oftentimes overshadowed by a disorganized administration and an oppressive learning environment. If there's something I would like West to do in the future, it's to actually take the time to listen to your student body and not encourage us to "talk to you" and then completely ignore our emails, deny our requests for meetings, and dismiss our ideas and then replace them with your own WITHOUT our input. Thank you to the staff and teachers that actually made being a student at West worth it, and I hope to never see the rest again in the future.Other Review10mo ago - Check out schools near 5511 Halison St.
