5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagelots of bullying and discrimination between students in this school, the staff "raises awareness", but it is not effective because they do not know how to handle actual bullying. the teachers are kind, but most of them do not know how to handle a chaotic classroom nor do they know how to show authority. 9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a parents of 4 young children and currently have 3 attending Los Coyotes. I will say, hands down, this is an exceptional public school. Not only is the school ranked second elementary school in OC (based on test scores), it cultivates the whole well-being of the child (character, kindness, respect, arts, etc.). The teachers are so professional, dedicated and loving that there have been times I have gotten emotional. This is most likely due to the caliber of teachers the school attracts and administrative leadership dedicated to excellence. My husband and I moved into our neighborhood specifically for Los Coyotes and, I have to say, we do not regret it at all. One more thing to note, parents are really involved in their children’s school life here in a positive way. "The school bus comes and picks up the kids in front of the building so that’s nice and convenient. Police station/ fire depth is down the street as well as the Cerritos sheriff department so pretty safe neighborhood."
