5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI transferred here from another school to find a better fit for me and I love it. My old school had very defined levels of social status and coming here makes me feel more normal. The teachers are nicer and actually help you when you have questions and the students aren't judgmental like my old school.Student Review3y ago - Daybreak Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe staff, parents, and admin are amazing! The school climate is improving, curriculums are changing, and kids enjoy coming again. We have a robotics club, volleyball, track, and a magic club. Students with a variety of needs are supported at our school, which does reflect lower test scores, but those students are valued and taught by an amazing team of teachers! Since when do test scores reflect the abilities of all students anyway? I see amazing growth among my students every single year. Since I've been teaching at Daybreak students have become more respectful toward their peers compared to when I started. All middle schools deal with bullying in different ways and although it can occur, it doesn't have to persist. All teachers have made it a point to teach character traits that will help students become better citizens. I'm proud of my school and I love teaching at Daybreak. N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI feel compelled to share my experience with Maple Grove as a concerned parent deeply invested in my child’s education and well-being. While the institution presents itself as nurturing, my encounters with the school’ have left me deeply dissatisfied and concerned. One of the most alarming issues I’ve faced is its lack of transparency and communication regarding instances of bullying and students’ emotional well-being. Shockingly, the school neglects to inform parents when their child is sent to a Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) room or receives counseling support. When asked they stated “they are not allowed to notify parents”, which I have not found any policy affirming that statement. This failure to share crucial information deprives parents of the opportunity to provide necessary support during challenging times or help manage behaviors. Furthermore it comes off as nefarious to keep information pertaining to a child from a parent. Moreover, attempts to address concerns with the school administration reveal a lack of effective communication. Instead of offering constructive solutions or demonstrating accountability, officials make excuses and engage in circular discussions, leaving issues unresolved. This pattern only heightens frustration and disillusionment among parents who entrust the school with their children’s well-being. In addition to communication issues, the staff’s demeanor towards student and family events is concerning. Many staff members display rudeness and reluctance to participate, often hindering planned events. This attitude reflects poorly on the school’s commitment to community building and impedes meaningful engagement between the school and its stakeholders. The failure to promptly address bullying incidents and the dismissive attitude of staff towards student and family events not only jeopardize students’ safety and emotional health but also erode trust within the parent community. Consequently, Maple Grove fails to provide a supportive learning environment where all students can thrive. In conclusion, I cannot recommend Maple Grove to prospective parents until steps are taken to prioritize communication, address bullying effectively, and foster a culture of openness and accountability. Every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and supported in their educational journey, and it’s crucial for Maple Grove to take immediate action to uphold these principles and start walking the walk and instead of being all talk.Parent Review1mo ago - Check out schools near 502 SW 22nd Ave.

"Everything is great about this neighborhood due to it being so far away from the inner city & main routes. This neighborhood is perfect for raising a family & buying a house. It’s clean, well maintained & school scores are great for little ones. "

"Super cute area, far enough away from Vancouver without being too far away. Love the community, but not the public school system. I suggest a private school if you really care about your child's education. "

"If you live out of town you can’t walk to the cute parks very easily. I.e I live past the train tracks up the hill and I don’t feel super safe walking to town due to no side walk"

"Is growing rural town that is working it way up to being a big city. There side walks that good for dog walks and small locally owned restaurant that make good food. School system needs more money for funding new infrastructure but I don’t trust local government of putting the resources there."

"Not lots of crime, lots of local schools and places to shop. even though Battle ground is getting bigger it still feels like a small town. there's a few parks and water to go swimming. I wish we had an indoor pool but that's my only complaint. "
