This school does not encourage parent involvement unless you were born and raised in this area. I have tried to insert myself as much as possible to be involved in my children's classrooms, and it has been a struggle. And there are unfortunately no extra curricular things for the kids: no music, no art, no second language classes. My kids come home telling me which teachers were yelling in the lunchroom or car line that day. From my experience inside the school, the students are often told how bad they are when they mess up instead of being encouraged by their good behavior.

I am a former student. I went there from 1974-1976.Even though I have gone to many schools over the years I actually was treated pretty decent. Definately better than other schools. But then again the school was new when I and my cousin attended. It was open classroom then I have no idea what they are now but back in the day we graded our own papers. Plenty chance to be sneaky even though I was not there were chances. I sure hope things have turned around since then. But on average I think it was a goods chool.

11/10. I have stated that the teachers care about the students and they really really do. However, there are teachers that are going to be harder on the student to help push them and prepare them for what college is going to be like. If they need help at any point or time as long as I ask for it they will receive it. The school runs by a five block schedule, for full length blocks and one skinny used for test prep or remediation. The students there are really really great too, especially if you don’t think you’re going to make a lot of friends there is always a place to fit in at CGHS.
