3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child is constantly bullied for absolutely no reason. Kids are calling her cancer girl and making fun of her for allegedly having cancer. The principals do not do anything to stop this behavior. My child was offered a teacher to escort her from class to class so the kids would not jump her. Why not go directly to the source and make their parents aware of this? My child should feel SAFE not threatened to go to school.Parent Review8mo ago - Sunnyside Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm surprised and a bit disappointed to see this school get a 10 score, it's honestly, NOT. A 5/6 AT BEST! My daughter has been attending this school since 2nd grade, she is now in 5th, the teachers are decent at best. They just do their job children are all numbers to them, no above and beyond. --Granted it's in a decent area so it has the pretty bells and whistles but definitely academic wise such a let down. The extra curriculum at this school consists of PE gym, Art, chorus and what they consider 'tech' which is having your kid sit at a computer playing games for an hour. Luckily my daughter has an IT dad, who has taught her and continues to teach her about TECHNOLOGY and software to get her familiarized. It's honestly mind numbing work, my daughter dislikes it, if you're not a wino mom that contributes heavily to this school, you're unimportant to their tight knit PTO committee, further more your child is unimportant! Don't be fooled by the "pretty" and 10 rating, the children ALL have open book tests and it seems they state test ALL YEAR LONG! What happened to educating our children? Not test them to numbness! Testing is all OPEN BOOK so that of course they get great grades and state funding stays in tact. Trust this review, I'm a mother of travel and I am very invested in my daughters HIGHER education but trust, you won't get that here! SHOP AROUND!!Parent Review6y ago - Smyrna High School

"Very violent community and is not pet friendly . No one owns a pet in the apartment complex so it would likely be an bad option for a pet owner ! "

"It’s very easy to get in and out of the neighborhood. White Oak rd can be busy closer to 13 but this far back is great. Very close to Route 1 and lots of back road to drive to clear your mind when needed. Also still close to shopping, main road and highways, and Dover AFB."

"It’s mostly a positive place for pets, but there are a few owners who struggle to keep their animals on leases and others that allow their pets to bark or be loud for long periods of time."

"Dover is a city just like any other good and bad areas. Though small still homey feeling. I prefer more out west of Dover more of a rural feeling"

"Not much space or area to walk a dog. Dogs must remain on a leash. Please pickup the dog waste and place a bag."

"I’m indifferent about Dover. I’m conflicted about how I feel about this city. The crime has increased just like most densely populated areas. There are positive aspects but they don’t outweigh the negative. "

"There are many kids in the area and there is a park down the street. They’re also really friendly. The Reily Brown Elementary school is very close. I’ve been in this neighborhood since I was a small child and I always felt safe walking to the park with friends."

"Love it, neighborhood is friendly and full of children. Many dog walkers and I hardly ever have a owner leave poop on my lawn. I haven’t witnessed crime. I do see people walking along the streets but I think it’s due to public transit being near by overall great place "

"There bad projects and low cost trailer parks down the road , so there is a lot of shootings (gun shots being fired)! So called drug dealers down the street and some child molesters, therefore I wouldn’t raise young children in this neighborhood!"

"I lived in the neighborhood almost 3 years and it is very quiet. Be wary, they over charge for apartments in the spring and summer. I started payimg 975 a month for a 1 bed 1 bath in summer, come February they were offering 1 beds for 700-800. I am now ony 3rd lease and am only paying under 1060 because i agreed to a 15 month lease. There are people staying in 2 & 3 bed room apartments for less than what i am paying. They also increase rent every year. Also, when they say a room has been renovated, that just means they updated it from 1950's appliances to 1970's appliances. There is nothing renovated about my apartment, though they claim it is. It looks just like one of those cheap hotels."

"Centered in middle of town, not far to go towards Camden or Smyrna. Houses are close together and the main road can be kind of busy at times. "
