8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is our 2nd year here and I literally HATE this school. I get anxiety around my kids going to this school. Dismissal is a nightmare. They call on favorites and the rest get to go last. Standing right in front of the teacher dismissing and she will literally avoid asking you. Dismissal time is not even that anymore, it's 5 minutes later because of the "new dismissal". We're getting the consequences for some parents that thought they could take random kids home, from what I was told. I have been to MANY different schools in my life (bare minimum 13). ALL OF THEM are/were way more advanced than these and that was in the 2000s. This school is just horrible. If you can send your children somewhere else, do that. They do not have very much for children to do such as sports. The others that go here are mostly locals (a few from military). The locals are just that, lawtonians. The community is small. The trash around this small city is way worse than most other larger cities. The amount you pay in taxes, both local and state, and the monopolies the utility companies have, makes the cost of living here the same or more than other cities, but the pay is way lower unless you work at Goodyear or the military. They are constantly increasing the water bills and taxes in the city because they can. The people outside of Lawton have to shop in Lawton too. I would suggest driving to Wichita Falls, TX to shop. You pay way less in taxes. Id honestly suggest living in Texas if you can. You can't drive in Lawton without seeing trash, homeless, and cars that are duck-taped or tied together with straps. Stuff to do in lawton? Lol, movie theater, chuck e cheese, the great plains museum, and parks. The best thing here is the mountains and medicine park. My kids HATE this school. They BEG me to not have to go. Then the hospitals here suck! My son had an issue that was time sensitive and SWM didn't have an ultrasound tech and CCMH REFUSED his care. They said the earliest flight to OU Med would take a min. of hours to get to him and no ambulance that could take him! I deff didn't mind taking him myself and thankfully turned out to be nothing but God forbid that happens to someone that truly needs those services promptly because it could turn very bad. The dr in ER even said "this is unacceptable and I can't beleive I am saying this".Parent Review1y ago - Eisenhower High School

"Dogs run loose, transients poison dogs to break into your home, coyotes and bobcats eat your pets. Lawton is not a great place to live"

"I drive to work takes about 16 minutes to get there. Traffic is a little heavy when the school year is going. Otherwise it will take only 16 min from east to west side. But watch out for potholes since the city of Lawton doesn’t take care of the streets. The lights are time sometimes perfect if you hit it just right but be aware of people running the light thinking that rushing to get where they need to go is important and the their live and other lives doesn’t matter. Sometime the cops let it happen. "

"We celebrate holidays together at the park and all over the neighborhood. Residents bring horses for the children to ride as they walk slowly side by side. Barbecues all the time. We help keep majority of our yards manicured and cut during the summer months. We check on our elders here and make sure everyone is alright and safe. "

"People don’t pick up after their dogs. If there was a way to institute the necessity for dog owners to pick up after their dog then things would be smooth but a lot of owners just leave their dogs poop everywhere and it is a mine field."

"Traffic on Rogers lane is beyond miserable, mostly because everyone speeds, and traffic lights seem to be more of an option than the law. 38th and Rogers lane is deadly. Rogers lane is out dated and need to be bulldozed, with an actual bypass put in. Too much traffic for the size of the town. But Lawton public officials could care less about our safety. I44 is pretty good though. Once you get off of Rogers lane. "
