"Back in the 60’s and 70’s and 80’s Merrick was full of friendly caring neighbors. But once the late 90’s and 2000’s hit - it became stuck up and snotty - people don’t look out like they once did. Very sad "

"Merrick is a great place to live. Great schools, 36 minutes to NYC on the LIRR, 4 major malls within 15 minutes(5 min to Roosevelt Field), beaches, pools, parks, restaurants aplenty, all close by and easy to get to. "

"North Merrick feels like a throw back to another time when communities were more like families. The kids walk to the elementary school. The crossing guard and principal greet everyone personally. All parents look out for one another's children. During hurricane sandy, community came together, neighbors with power opening their doors to others, hosting impromptu block parties, sharing generators and gas. It is a phenomenal place to live."
