Great teachers who care. My son is very happy there

This school failed my child miserably. They took my child out of her only elective class to help her with reading comprehension. I watched her go down hill from that point on. I was hopeful they would help and backed their decision to take the one class away she looked forward to. At the end of the year she still struggles and had an F in ELA. Then she was excluded from all 8th grade activities. The field trip, was not invited to the 8th grade ceremony, Friday night live because of her grade. She has never been in trouble at school, has great attendance. I went and talked to the principal and told them this was not fair. I was told she wasn't the only one, so I asked how many 8th graders made their standers. I was so shocked to learn close to a third of the 8th grade was excluded from any 8th grade celebration. That is a huge number. It says alot about this school and how students are treated. If you are smart you will have no problems. If your child struggles don't expect this school to do them any good. They give them no hope and push them down.

Some of the teachers act like they would rather be working a fast food job than working here. Som expect so much from every single student when In reality, not every student learns the same speed. Some teachers give out so much work and get mad when something isn’t done in time.

I can't rave more about this school. We moved several times and my daughter had been through several schools and was super shy as a result. When I enrolled her I let them know she has anciety and they made sure to pair her with a teacher who was just so perfect for her gentle spirit! It made me feel truly heard as a mother and that they truly cared as teachers about making sure she was in the best enviornment to learn. They are HIGHLY focused on the 7 habits of highly effective people which instills really fantastic core values in the kiddos!! They also focus highly on celebrating successes and awarding positive behaviours. My daughter has just THRIVED since starting here!! When she came home one day having had an incident I emailed her teacher and heard back within the hour! I was SHOCKED. It was so amazing to feel like they are extremely quick in addressing issues with the kids and in really helping them understand WHY some behaviours are not ok versus just punishing them. I really can't rave more about the school. They also have so many events parents can attend and really encourage parents being part of the school and active in their child's learning. I could go on forever but I think I made my point haha!
