7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy whole review doesn't fit. Here is the last 1500 word chunk:This school effectively deals with bullying:15:1 student to teacher ratio is a lie. Homeroom where the child spends most of their time has 29-30 students and 1 teacher. I had one male child go through K-5 and one female child go through K-3 at Glacier Hills. This school teaches a course on anti-bullying. However, when the rubber meets the road, they fail to curb it.My son was poked verbally and physically by various students for months at a time. As I stated earlier, my son was always the one punished alone without calling the aggressor to account. Both children should have been called to account - not just my son alone. Then after the one-sided discipline, other children in the class were afraid of my son. I can imagine why since the school felt it was only necessary to punish the one child who was poked and exploded. At times, the teachers would ask us for ways to help both my son and daughter. These were the few bright spots. I remember my daughter and son both crying because they were hurt by other students and there was no one who would help them in this school. How would you rate your experience at this school? The experience varied. In my son's K, 2nd, and 4th years, he remembers his teachers being good to him and helping him succeed. The previous principal put up with a lot from my mildly autistic daughter before transferring her. However, the issues I described above outweigh those bright spots. My son just wrote in his 5th grade yearbook about what he remembers from 5th grade: "mental breakdown" and "being picked on" He's so depressed right now. :*(Parent Review3y ago - Black Hawk Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’m a current student here and this school could definitely be better. There is a lot of racial tension or talk around race such as people saying and calling other students slurs. The teachers do absolutely nothing about this. Kids will blatantly swear in class and no one says anything. There have been so many fights as of late. The teachers also aren’t the best with coordination of projects in different classes. This week we started a project in science and social studies with harsh deadlines. The social studies teacher in particular is very disliked among students. Lots of times she gives us random deadlines and says we wasted all our time doing something else. Most of the time people are trying to catch up and with comprehension or map tests. I would evaluate on this more but it’s hard to explain unless you actually have a relation to this school. The food isn’t the greatest most of the time too. And the homophobia and sexual jokes. One of my friends is bullied terribly because of his sexuality IN FRONT OF TEACHERS. I know full well people and teachers can hear them. They just choose to do nothing about it. I would like to talk about a fight that happened yesterday even though I did not witness it for myself. Yesterday at lunch two boys were trying to pull off a Muslim girl’s hijab. If anyone doesn’t know why Muslim girls wear hijabs it’s because of their religion. They’re not allowed to show their hair. I don’t know much on this so look it up if you like. So this girl fought back in self defense and got in trouble. One of the boys who was harassing her said “At least when I had hair I actually showed it.” He is bald btw. He doesn’t have cancer just a condition where he can’t grow hair. Again this girl can’t show her hair because of her religion. The boys did not get detention (to my knowledge) or suspended. If that girls ever sees this she should know YOU CAN SUE THEM FOR ATTEMPTING TO TAKE OFF YOUR HIJAB!Student Review3mo ago - Check out schools near 3760 Drexel Ct.
