Traditional Exterior w/ a Modern “Dwell” Interior
Are you or someone you know looking for something a little different in Rockridge? Here is that chance to own a home with the traditional shingled exterior and a totally modern “Dwell Magazine” interior! This home features 3 spacious bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a truly open floor plan creating a “Great Room” combining the living, dining, and kitchen. The home has modern clean lines throughout and the recently remodeled kitchen looks like it belongs in a restaurant. It features a prep sink, a stainless steel work area, a very hip ground glass countertop, newer top-of-the-line appliances, and there is even a warming drawer. The chef in you will be inspired to do great things here. To complete the 1st floor there is a bedroom suite that opens to the backyard and deck. This bedroom in the past has been the perfect media and guest room.
As you climb the dramatic new stairway to the 2nd floor you will notice that it also serves as a set of built-in book shelves and a wonderful place to display your art and collectables. Upstairs you will find 2 very spacious bedrooms with vaulted ceilings and fun spaces. The 3rd room is the perfect office/ library with a sunny exposure, a full wall of book shelves complete with a rolling library ladder – how cool is that? Both the master bedroom and office open up to a sunny balcony overlooking the interesting garden w/ a wood deck, brick patio and cozy garden area all just the perfect place to enjoy a quiet weekend.
There is storage in the partial basement and all of the systems have been redone and/or replaced during the extensive remodeling. And to top it all off you have a fully functioning Solar Voltaic system in place and producing electricity every sunny day. It is so fun to watch the PG&E meter actually run backwards.

What Locals Say about Fairview Park

  • Trulia User
"The area at one point in time was safe in a good neighborhood to live in. It’s not too bad now it’s pretty safe but since the pandemic, I have noticed more packages being picked up and taken from porch steps, cars having their wheels taken off of them And lack of police patrols. Overall, it’s still a decent neighborhood to live in but since the pandemic things have gotten a little worse, hopefully things will get better soon."

"The neighborhood repertory theater in downtown Berkeley. The Ashby BART station parking lot offers weekend entertainment plus swap meet businesses and farmers market. Downtown Berkeley every Thursday is a farmers market which makes it good for local farmers and grocery store owners to sell their produce."

"The neighborhood is good for adults not many children in the area. It’s a good place for young to muddle aged people. The neighborhood is with on walking distance to A/C Transit & Bart, Whole Foods, dry cleaners, eateries and pet stores. The neighborhood is pretty safe. "

"Each Oakland neighborhood has its own special appeal but Rockridge has to be one of the most desirable areas. The commute - take the casual car pool in the morning and you can be in downtown SF in 30. If you have to run into the office at night or in non peak traffic it is 12 minutes to Market St. Of course BART or ACTransit is also a great option, Granted San Francisco has renowned restaurants but Rockridge restaurants such as Town Hall, Oliveto, A Cote to name a few, compete well. Plus Rockridge has a fine collection of dive bars - McNallys, George & Walts, Kingfish and the Conga Room. Although this is one of the most desirable areas in Oakland, and one of the most expensive, everyone is friendly. Neighborhoods have regular block parties and everyone says hello at Safeway or Trader Joes. "
