10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is a terrible choice for parents and students looking for a supportive teachers. Teachers will rarely listen to or try to understand a student's point of view. The administration will ignore many student concerns without any investigation unless parents interfere. Many of the work handed is just busy work and rarely has an impact on student learning. There are some helpful teachers but there are even more cruel teachers. It's incredibly hard to fix grades that a student didn't deserve without parental interference. The courses offered are very restrictive as well.Student Review8y ago - Wake Nc State Univ Stem Early College High School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had an amazing experience as a student at this school. This has made me not only ready for college but also the professional world. Throughout my four years here I was able to grow and learn through the help of the incredible students and staff. I can't wait to see what Wake STEM becomes.Student Review4y ago - Rolesville Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSince the new principal has taken over, RMS has gone into a very fast downward spiral. The turnover since Angela Cooper has taken over, is incredible. All three assistant principals have even left the building since she took over. My son was in the eighth grade last year and he spent 100% of the year without a science teacher. The school had a regular substitute in there that the students loved, but had no teaching degree or any science knowledge. He has always excelled in math1 and he ended the first semester with a 40% because the school had no math teacher. A little over half way through the year, they found a replacement teacher, but sadly, he was unhappy and left the school. He raised my son’s grade up by more than 40%. He also spent a good portion of the year without a history teacher. They went through a bunch of fill in teachers and eventually found someone to close out the year. My son also had no PE teacher all year. They had various people come in and teach the class that zero experience, but often there was no teacher at all. That left one teacher to handle sometimes over 90 students by themselves. The size of the classes are way over what would be standard. My son told me that they had to bring more desks into classes, just to accommodate the crowding. Maybe because of all the teachers leaving? They have also eliminated elective classes for this year. Your child will have the absolute bare minimum to choose from and will have to repeat a class at some point in their 3 years there. The school is overrun by disrespect students. There are constant fights and bad language isn’t frowned upon. The school has a zero tolerance policy on cellphones, yet there seems to be no form of discipline when they are used. No gang activity, just no discipline, so the behavior grows. That being said… Most of the teachers there are amazing people who are just doing their best to survive. Many of them are overwhelmed by the schools issues and having to lesson plan for other classes or just having to cover classes.Parent Review8mo ago - Wake Young Men's Leadership Academy

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile we have had a few bumps getting our boy engaged, the leadership have been great partners with looking at options. This school is a college prep school so there is not an emphasis in the Arts, but more a focus on core curriculum. We love that there are male teachers teaching our boy as they provide examples of strong role models. We love the uniforms!Parent Review2mo ago - Wake Young Women's Leadership Academy

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a former teacher at RHS , I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone. With the majority of the students below grade level, all the admin care about is passing students along and getting bonuses by making students take tests and courses they don't even need. Behavior problems are out of control. Students fight, do drugs, have sex, vandalize, do a lot of other inappropriate things daily on campus. The bathrooms are usually closed because of vandalism. More time, money, and focus is spent on kids who don't want to be there than kids who want to learn. These kids get left behind. There are so many classes without certified teachers. The overall morale is so low. The principal micromanages the staff. The office sectretaries are rude to staff, parents, and students. The overall safety of the school is a daily concern. Teachers are given an impossible work load with no restroom or lunch breaks and a ridiculous amount of duties, after hour meetings, and mandatory evening and weekend events without any compensation. There is definitely a racial division in the school and the principal tends to side with students and staff of his race.I wouldn't be surprised if this school had to suddenly shut down because so many staff members quit. This has to be the worst school I've ever taught at in NC.Other Review5mo ago - Check out schools near 3536 Singleleaf Ln.

"Yes, North Raleigh, located in North Carolina, United States, is known for having some excellent schools. The area is home to several highly regarded public and private educational institutions. These schools often offer rigorous academic programs, extracurricular activities, and resources to support students' learning and growth. It's worth noting that school quality can vary within any given area, so it's important for individuals to research and consider specific schools based on their unique needs and preferences."
