7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageJFK Middle school, and the entire Bethpage UFSD, has a severe bullying problem. I know several families who moved out of the district over the past few years because their children felt unsafe and unwelcome. The school does nothing about it. They publicly state they don't tolerate any bullying and take prompt action, but I've experienced first hand that they absolutely do not intervene and try to shrug it off as "kids being kids". If you have a kid that is not being bullied, there are many great teachers, especially the younger ones who have not been burned out by the education system yet. It's a good district if you have a child who is either academically gifted or has fairly significant special needs. It also has a solid traditional arts and music program. If your child is a different learner, smack in the middle of the academic spectrum, or is interested in alternative art forms, such as digital music or art, they will get lost in the system. If your child also happens to be the target of the rampant bullying in the district, good luck. There is one excellent guidance counselor, otherwise those in charge and the Superintendent will overlook the issue.Parent Review5mo ago - Check out schools near 35 Myron Rd.
