What Locals Say about Longview

  • Trulia User
"We really don’t do any community events. We don’t even get trick-or-treaters during Halloween because there isn’t much of a sidewalk. The beauty of this neighborhood is you have neighbors when you need them, but otherwise they keep to themselves, mainly."

"They’ve made some improvements to this road and the surrounding area. Busy road so I would always say have your child accompanied with an adult. "

"The bus comes right in front of my house easy access to anything you need Just 3 blocks from town one block from Kaiser 4 blocks from the hospital The neighborhood is very friendly"

"Very busy highway! Not a good neighborhood for animals unless you have a secure safe fenced yard! We have lived here for two yrs plus, and lost two cats! Otherwise great location to everything!"

"There are lots of families, quick walk to the lake where you can walk your dog, fish, or bicycle. There are plenty of parks in the area and a basketball court near by. All the schools are within walking distance. "

"It’s not that bad but not great. Have only had one bike stolen in 3.5 years. The neighbors dogs bark a lot in the afternoon. We are right on the bus line and when the bus drives by the foundation of our house moves. Lol "

"I grew up on Cowin Ct, then moved to O.B.Hwy between 38th and 40th from elementary through high school. As an adult, I moved back to the area (Cottonwood St) with my husband and two children because I know the area is the best in Longview, plus Mint Valley elementary school is one of the better schools for my soon-to-be Kindergartner. After 10 years of being away and moving back to this area, it's the same as I remember. The neighborhood has kids playing and the neighbors are very friendly."

"Quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of Longview. Most of the neighborhood are homeowners so they take good care of their properties. It is a good neighborhood to see people walking their dogs, or riding their bikes. The neighborhood has a variety of retirees and young families. "

"We have the farmers market a few blocks away every Tuesday and Saturday morning in the summer months, it's nice to support our locals."

"I think dog owners would enjoy quiet morning walks, this neighborhood isn't too active early in the day and is pretty peaceful overall. I don't think dog owners would like that neighbors set off fireworks for about 2 weeks straight in July, and because of how close our houses are, the fireworks feel fairly close for such a populated area.
