Durango, 30 min. away, has shopping, an array of eateries and activities, as does Cortez, 25 min. away. Outdoor activities in the region include hiking, rafting, kayaking, skiing, and even dog mushing. If you're looking for a safe and quiet, family oriented small town, Mancos can't be beat."
