3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBeing a student, I think the Hamburg Area School District in general is a good place with oppertunity, but overall, I am having most meaning in the Hamburg Area Middle School. The teachers really cared about me, even though they annoyed the heck out of me while caring. The music association is my REALLY big thing. The music instructors, Mrs. Dowd, Miss Reimer, Ms. Saw, Mr. Peitch, and Dr. Ryan work their hardest to make sure that their students are satisfied with the music association. The choirs give big oppertunities for solos and such. The orchestras also give big oppertunities as well. I played double bass since 3rd grade, and am still supported as I go along through middle school. Middle schoolers are also able to join the high school musical every year, because they stopped doing the junior productions. That also gives more things to do. The schools have been doing a better job in general at having a variety introduced other than sports. One thing they could work on is music tolerance, though. When we only have rehearsel one day a week, the teachers should have tolerance with something and schedule a test retake on a day that has an activity that is more than once a week.Other Review10y ago - Hamburg Area High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDon't know how this review even got 3 stars. First off, whoever says that the teachers are great, didn't experience what I did in this school. They do nothing to stop bullying, in fact some of the teachers are bullies. Second, not many good classes. For example, my current school offers drivers ed and it is a cyber school once hamburg's drivers ed teacher retired they were done with the class. Yeah wonderful school. yeah right.Other Review7y ago - Perry El School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePerry Elementary is a great school. Teachers and staff are wonderful and caring to all students. They just need to work on effectively dealing with bullies.Parent Review6y ago - Check out schools near 320 Woodland Rd.

"I’ve lived here for a year and I’ve felt at home from day 1. Hamburg is like a small community where everything intertwines and is celebrated with festivals, parades and traditions, yet it’s big enough to have many stores and amenities."

"It’s a nice place there are some meth problems in the area though. And a group of kids that go around robbing each other so I would recommend getting some type of security. Most people are friendly and well mannered. "

"I have been living in Hamburg PA for almost a year. I am a city person and this town is so calm. You can walk outside and enjoy the peace and quiet. Many neighbors tend their yards and lawns. They have beautiful decor outside and everyone is welcoming and nice. The community park and pool are spacious and fun to hang in. Hamburg has the Schuylkill trail, which is well maintained and a nice nature walk for the spring and summer."

"I live here and it is very convenient. Many new shops are being built so you really do not have to leave the town to get any shopping done at all. There are also great parks and trails for people who enjoy the outdoors. It is a small town and the traffic level is low and the town is very quiet. Great place to raise a family."
